What we serve is grown, matured or produced as close to us as possible. In an increasingly fast-paced world, we at THE FLAG Lugano want to slow down and enjoy life. Our restaurant is a place where eating becomes a healthy, tasty and balanced experience once more. Whether vegetarian, Mediterranean-inspired or tailored to individual dietary requirements, our cuisine embodies vitality, diversity and a genuine appreciation of food. Our goal is to nourish the body, mind and soul, not just to satisfy hunger. The communal experience is also particularly important to us. After all, good food brings people together, encourages conversation and contributes to joie de vivre.

Our head chef Simone Riberi comes from the canton of Ticino, where he was born and raised. His culinary journey began with his chef training in Ticino and took him through various restaurants in the cantons of Valais and Vaud. There, he gained valuable experience, learning a wide range of cooking techniques and culinary traditions. Out of love for Ticino and its regional products, he eventually returned to join us.

Overlooking the serene waters of Lake Lugano, this restaurant offers a refined yet grounded dining experience where interior design becomes a natural extension of its surroundings. The project draws inspiration from the lake itself, crafting a space where materials, tones, and textures come together to evoke a sense of calm sophistication. The interior design is anchored by a neutral palette enriched with natural woods, evoking warmth and authenticity. Carefully selected furnishings in light oak and walnut echo the tactility of the natural world, while blue ceramic and upholstered pieces bring in the cool, reflective tones of the lake.

Touches of green in the furniture—whether in upholstery or accent details—nod gently to the surrounding vegetation, creating visual continuity between the indoor space and the landscape beyond. Natural leathers add depth and a quiet sense of luxury, enhancing the tactile experience while maintaining the understated elegance of the overall concept. The carefully curated balance between materials and light (warm and indirect) fosters an inviting, almost contemplative mood—ideal for lingering meals and quiet conversation.
